About Tom Oliver

The Number 3


Numbers are very important to God.  Have you ever noticed that certain numbers re-appear throughout the Bible... such as 40, 12, 8, and 3.  The number 3 represents God Himself (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit).  God has used this number to represent deliverance (Jonah in the whale, Jesus in the tomb, the temple being rebuilt on the THIRD day), and God has also told us that he requires THREE things of us (Micah 6:8).  In addition to this, were you aware that the spiritual gifts God put in place are nine (1 Corinthians 12), and these nine gifts are divided into three categories (Power Gifts - faith, miracles, healing; Revelation Gifts - wisdom, knowledge, discernment; Inspirational Gifts - tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy).  THREE gifts of THREE!  And..... the time God spent on this earth in the flesh (Jesus' physical lifespan) was 33 years.... as that IS the Number of God.  Is this cool or what???

 

So, is it any coincidence (there are NO coincidences with God) that Psalm 33:3 says 'sing to Him a new song; play skillfully on the strings with with loud shouts of joy'.  While God Himself may not have added the 'numbers' to the chapters and verses of the Bible, He DID ordain everything, including the exact number and place of every scripture!  So wouldn't you say that singing to God a new song is important to Him... Yes it is!  So important that He gave that verse His number (333)!  That is what this ministry is about, bringing and singing to Him new songs.  He wants that continually from all of us, as our love and awe of Him should be so overwhelming that it makes us sing new songs of worship and praise to Him every day!
